Casa Provenza is ideal for business or pleasure, whether you’re by yourself or with your family. The staff will pamper you and welcome you in true Sicilian style. Free WiFi is available throughout the entire building and terrace.
Guests will also have a relaxing reading room with books, local guide books, pamphlets, a tour desk, and also a refrigerator with cold drinks, or if you prefer, a tea kettle with herbal teas. There is also a toaster and a microwave.
Breakfast at Casa Provenza: discovering Sicilian flavors
Breakfast is served on the terrace from 8 to 9 am during most of the year when the weather in Catania is ideal. Guests will be able to taste the many flavors of Sicily. During the winter season, breakfast is served in the reading room.
Our abundant breakfasts consist of both hot and cold beverages, bread, butter, jam, Nutella, a variety of cereal, yogurt, juices and fresh fruit, cheeses and cold cuts, as well as other specialties both sweet and savory. Vegan and gluten-free products available on request.
Between the hours of 6:30 am and 11 am, our guests can also opt for enjoying their breakfast at the nearby Caffè Prestipino where you’ll be able to try brioche pastries and the famous Sicilian granita or perhaps a delicious granita and brioche. To kick-start your morning, try an exquisite ravioli pastry filled with fresh ricotta (baked or fried).
Catania’s Historic Center: parking near Casa Provenza
Convenient and affordable parking is available just 200 meters from the B&B just before the roundabout at Piazzale Borsellino (right side along the Arches of the Marina) along Via C. Dusmet. Before entering and taking your ticket, you’ll clearly see if there are spaces available on the monitor. Once parked, you’ll quickly reach the B&B by going through Porta Uzeda until you get to Piazza Duomo.
With an advanced reservation, our guests also have access to parking in the garage below the B&B just steps from our entrance. A daily fee of 15 euro is paid directly to the Il Centro Car Park and can be accessed from Via S. Maria del Rosario, 21 next to the post office entrance. The opening hours to the public are from Monday through Saturday from 7.30 to 21.30 and closed between 13.00 to 14.00. Sundays by reservation.
Along Via della Loggetta, there are a few paid parking spaces available, especially in the afternoon. Paid hours are between 08.30 and 13.00 and from 15.30 to 20.00. The meter is located on the corner of Via A. Mancini which also takes you to Casa Provenza. More parking is available along the surrounding streets, but pay attention to the timetables. In the “Movida” area, parking is prohibited from 10pm to 2am.
Catania and the Beautiful Area Surrounding Casa Provenza
Casa Provenza is located in the heart of Catania, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This city is a perfect blend of Baroque architecture and the many influences of all the cultures that have left their mark over the centuries. The Church of Sant’Agata in Piazza Duomo, the Greek Amphitheater, the Palazzo dei Chierici, the Palazzo degli Elefanti and the historic Piscarìa and Féra o Luni markets are just some of the attractions that are must-sees in Catania.
Let’s not forget that we are in Sicily and so that means the sea! The beaches of Catania are suitable for everyone offering both sandy and rocky shores. The most famous of them all is definitely Playa di Catania full of bathing establishments, restaurants, cafes just a short distance from the heart of the city.
Other destinations not to be missed during your stay at Casa Provenza are Aci Trezza and Mount Etna. Take a guided tour and visit this prominent symbol of Sicily.
Moving a little further from B&B, you can reach the Sicilia Outlet Village or the Alcantara Gorge just an hour away. And then again there’s Taormina, Syracuse, Ortigia island, Castello Mania, and the Valley of the Temples!
If nature is your passion, you will not want to miss the Alcantara Gorge which is located just one hour north of Catania. Mother Nature truly outdid herself when the river carved out these stunning gorges and cliffs.
